Cheyenne Birth Photography and Film

Strength, Love, and Transformation are all just parts of birth

As a birth photographer, my goal is to tell your unique story as unobtrusively as possible. To move through your space with gentleness and intention. To artistically capture both the most transformative moments and smallest details of your birth. You meet your baby for the first time only once. Make sure you have that moment preserved.

Let's document the beauty of your birth story.

Birth Story Photography

The moment everything changes

Having a birth photographer means documenting….

The moment you meet your baby

Imagine your baby is finally here. It is the most emotional, inspiring, heart-wrenching, fleeting moment. It is pure bliss. Imagine having a professional photograph of that moment to cherish for years to come.

Support & love from your partner

When you hire me as your birth photographer, it means your partner is able to be 100% focused on you and your baby without having to remember to photograph these precious moments.

The small but important details

Your room number. The weather outside. The music that was playing. Hand holding. The first latch. Decorations in your birth space. All these little details will be photographed to tell your full story.

Your Family Transformation

Birth transforms a family, and I am there to preserve all of the powerful moments and emotions that go along with it. Your partner becoming a father. You learning to surrender during the intensity. And more!

Meet Danielle

I want you to know: You are safe with me. You don’t have to act a certain way in front of my lens…. just let go. Be silly, scared, brave, frustrated, loud, ecstatic, and everything in between. Regardless of how wild or chaotic your birth may seem to you, I promise to showcase its beauty.

Seeing people come face to face with their body’s power, and look fear in the face, and perhaps believe for a moment that they can’t do it…. and then do it anyway… is the most incredible thing to witness.

I truly believe that birth imagery can change the world. It makes birth visible and accessible. Birth Photography certainly changed the way I processed my own birth and gave me a confidence I have never known as I embarked into motherhood.

love notes from families

“I’m so grateful that we had Danielle with us to capture the intimate moments of the birth of our second son. Danielle does truly immaculate work. Everyone that I show my birth photos to is blown away by her talent. And every time I look at the photos it takes me back to that perfect day. She captured it exactly how I remember it! My only regret is not knowing her when I had my first child!”

“What a gift to have the greatest day of my life captured exactly as I experienced it: magically. Danielle’s talent, expertise, and presence was a true privilege to have had in our birth space. It will forever be one of the best decisions we made to have had her there to welcome our second son. Danielle, we love you! “Thank you” will never be enough to express the work you did for our family.”

Questions about

Birth Photography
  • THERE ARE SO MANY REASONS TO HIRE A BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHER!

    1) You meet your child for the first time only once. Such an important moment deserves documentation!

    2) A birth photographer acts as your second set of eyes, and can show you things you were not able to see from your vantage point

    3) Photographs can help you process and reflect on the events of your birth, and can be healing.

    4) Hiring a professional allows your partner to be fully present for the birth without having to worry about taking photos.

  • Being on-call means I am fully available to you 24/7, day or night, and ready to join you whenever you need me. I do not travel more than 30 minutes from home, I do not engage in any activities that would interfere with driving, and I have my phone on and nearby 24/7. It also means I have gas in my car, and my bags packed and ready!

  • I do not place a time limit on birth photography services. I join you once you have reached a strong active labor pattern, and remain with you up to 2 hours postpartum. I’ll be there as long as I need to be!

  • Absolutely! It is an immense honor to join you during your cesarean birth. Be aware that some doctors or hospital have policies against me being in the OR, but I’ve had many clients fiercely self-advocate and my presence has been granted. If you hire me for a planned vaginal birth and end up with an unlanned c-section, I will do my best to join you in the OR. If that is not possible, I will rejoin you as soon as possible in the PACU.

  • I deeply understand and respect these hesitancies! Please know that I am always mindful to shoot from the most flattering angles, and will avoid shooting any body regions that you do not wish to be photographed. I shoot very intentionally and carefully while in your birth space.

Additionally, you may choose to have some or all of your images to be kept private!

  • It is HIGHLY unlikely that I will not be able to make your birth since I am on-call for you, but I also know that life is unpredictable and things happen. I have a network of excellent backups. All of my backups are professional photographers AND trained birth doulas. If I cannot make it for some reason, I will send a backup. They will give me the images they take so I can provide editing and retouching.
