Maternity shoots in the fall are so special, because Mother Earth and the Expecting Mother are both approaching the end of their growing season.
Not to mention the Rocky Mountain landscape shows off with ALL the vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow. Curt Gowdy State Park right outside of Cheyenne, WY, is the perfect backdrop to create an autumn maternity photoshoot for those with an adventurous and outdoor spirit.
These two AMAZING souls are expecting their first baby in a few short weeks, and wanted to celebrate with beautiful imagery in the great outdoors.
My clients probably think I am crazy when we pull the car over on the side of the road, and I make them stand in a patch of dead leaves 😆 BUT just look at the magical images that can come from it!

Curt Gowdy offers a variety of landscapes and backdrops without having to travel too far.
After a quick outfit change, we hopped in the car for a 30 second drive over to the lakefront! The calm water and fiery rocks create the most magical reflections.
And, just look at Dad's face in all of these 🥹 He was absolutely smitten with his beautiful wife during our shoot.... so sweet!

Next, she put on one of my client closet gowns: a super fun and flowy two-piece gown from Zebu Be You.
This dress BEGS for twirling and movement and skirt-tosses! This mama looked absolutely STUNNING in it. To end the evening, we headed up to an overlook point during blue hour to show off her growing belly.

This session truly represents the REASON I became a maternity photographer.
My client shared with me afterwards that these images were the first time she truly saw the beauty of her pregnant and changing body. That right there is the best compliment I could ever imagine!
Best of luck to these two as they welcome their baby into the world!
